Frequently Asked Questions

No experience? That’s fine: the camp is designed for people just starting out.

Anyone who wants to pursue a path in cinema or the audiovisual sector but lacks foundational knowledge.

In Calabria, in Tropea, for 10 days from June 15 to June 26.

Participants will take part in directing, screenwriting, production, and cinematography classes during the first few days, followed by two days of brainstorming, and then produce their projects alongside tutors.

No, the summer camp is intended for people without experience who want to take their first steps into the audiovisual world. Over these 10 days, participants will gain experience across various fields—directing, screenwriting, production, and cinematography—to discover which area suits them best. It is also open to anyone looking to challenge themselves!

Lessons will be held in English.

It is preferred but not mandatory. Any type of photo/video camera will do, as well as a laptop; these are useful if you want to immediately put into practice what you learn.

You will learn how to write a screenplay, how to use and adjust camera settings for your projects, different types of lighting to understand what best fits your scene, and how to manage pre-production to best organize your shoot. These are just four of the core topics!

Access to all classes, tutor support throughout the creative process, equipment, accommodation in a single or shared room (your choice), and breakfast and lunch for the entire duration of the Summer Camp.

Registration fee: €1,099 instead of €1,599.

It is perfect because you will learn to connect with others who are also experiencing this for the first time. While we are not your tutors outside of class hours, we provide full support.

An info pack will be sent to every participant well in advance.

Terms of participation

  1. After applying, please wait for our email confirming your selection.
  2. Refund policy: a refund is guaranteed only if you withdraw at least 60 days before the start date of the event.
  3. Any damage caused to the venue or accommodation must be paid for by the person responsible.
  4. Please take part with respect for the rules and for the other participants: behaviour that falls short of normal decorum may lead to exclusion from the venue and from the Summer Camp. We are in a public venue and we want to avoid people who are drunk, harassing or acting with a total lack of respect for others.
  5. By enrolling, participants authorise the organisers to use the finished works for cultural purposes only, never in a way that hinders the films’ path through festivals.
  6. By taking part, the director answers personally for the film they make.
  7. It is up to each director to check they have clearance for the music, the screenplay and the images of anyone filmed. For music it is best to choose royalty-free tracks: if the film goes to festivals, everything must be in order.
  8. Insurance: the organisation declines all responsibility for damage or loss affecting participants or their belongings before, during and after the camp, even when the organisation’s instructions have been followed. Everyone looks after their own belongings: we recommend taking out personal and travel insurance for the whole stay.
